What is the National Beautification Competition?
The National Beautification Competition is a nationwide challenge inviting schools, community groups, and individuals across Grenada, Carriacou, and Petite Martinique to transform unused or neglected spaces into vibrant ornamental gardens.
It is presented by the Grenada Flower & Garden Festival 2026 and the Grenada Tourism Authority, in collaboration with the 4-H Unit at the Ministry of Agriculture.

The competition was created to beautify schools and communities, build national pride, promote environmental stewardship, support the Grenada Flower & Garden Festival, and develop youth leadership and teamwork. It's about communities taking pride in their surroundings and working together to create healthier, more beautiful spaces.

Yes. This is the inaugural National Beautification Competition, launched as part of the first-ever Grenada Flower & Garden Festival 2026.
ELIGIBILITY & PARTICIPATION
Who can participate?

- Registered 4-H Clubs
- Schools (with at least 20 ft × 20 ft of available space)
- Community groups
- Individuals
Participants must be based in Grenada, Carriacou, or Petite Martinique.

Schools without adequate space can adopt a nearby community area instead, such as a police station, medical station, post office, community centre, or any public space not previously beautified.

Eligible areas include school grounds, community spaces, roadsides, public spaces, and tourism areas.
PROJECT REQUIREMENTS
What must my beautification project include?

Each site must feature at least 90% ornamental plants and flowers. Up to 10% of the space can include decorative elements such as stones, seashells, recycled tyres, mulch, or creative art features.

Projects should focus on ornamental plants and flowers suited to the local environment. Eco-friendly methods, water conservation, and waste reduction are strongly encouraged and will be considered during judging.
